THUNDERBIRD LOUVRE
The Thunderbird louvre is a high performance operated wall louvre. Its aerodynamic blade profile. The variable blades can either be horizontal or veritical to suit the particular application. Being fabricated primarily from 2.5mm thick extruded aluminium the Thunderbird Louvre is attractive and strong.
Application
Industrial and architectural applications, used as individual units or multiple banks. Suitable for installation into cladding, brickwork masonry etc. Particular applications are where control of air flow is required.
Installation
Bedded on to mastic sealant in masonry or brickwork and secured by fixings through the perimeter flange or with internal cleats. For cladding applications the unit is fitted into flashed openings and secured to the secondary structure with cleats or throught the perimeter frame.
Performance
The aerodynamic blade profile has excellent structural and aerodynamic characteristics.
Construction
The blades and frame are constructed from extruded aluminium to BS1474 - 6063T6. They can be supplied as natural aluminium or finished with anodising, polyester powder coating or PVF2 (PVDF) coating. The blades pivot in high performance moulded nylon bushes for a long lasting maintenance free life.
Controls
• Manual winder handle or remote winder or pole operated.
• Gas strut or spring with cable and winch.
• Electric actuator (240V ac or 24V dc).
• Pneumatic actuator.
Options
Birdguard - Expanded aluminium mesh fitted to the internal flange
Insect Mesh - Woven aluminium or plastic coated nylon fibre mesh fitted to the
internal flange.
Note: Bird guards and insect mesh may affect the aerodynamic perfomance.
Dimensions
Maximum height is 3.0m and maximum width is 2.5m. For heights above 2.0m the maximum recommended width is 1.5m. The Thuderbird can be adapted to suit particular requirements.
Weight
The basic unit weighs 22.5 kg/m2. Maintenance
These louvres require minimum maintenacnce. We would recommend that they are operated regularly, and where applicable cleaned down and washed with warm soapy water frequently. |
