Cladding
Suction band, cap sheets, stack and baffles from Versacor,
Armacor, HP200 Plastisol or Aluminium protected metal.
Frames
Fabricated from mild steel (minimum thickness 5 mm)
hot dipped galvanised after fabrication (to BS 729:
1971). Frame spacing is generally at 3.0 m centres,
based on a 1.0KN/m² wind load.
Dampers
Dampers are an integral part of the ventilator and
can be fixed or operable. They are constructed from
Versacor protected metal and galvanised mild steel frame.
Birdguards
Concealed birdguards are available as an optional extra.
Standard specification is PVC coated galvanised mild
steel with a 13 mm square mesh.
Highly Corrosive Applications
Steel frames are further protected with PVC coating
all over, with an average thickness of 3.2 mm.
Installation
The Zefyr HCD is suitable for fixing to a wide range
of roof constructions. Ventilator base frames can be
tailor-made for each contract to suit structural steelwork.
Full fixing details are supplied.
Controls
These are available as an optional extra for control
of ventilator exhaust capacity. Remotely controlled
dampers are available using either electrically or pneumatically
actuated control systems.
Routine Maintenance
Zefyr HCD ventilators are designed to be self cleaning
and under normal conditions are maintenance free. For
applications where heavy concentrations of dust or sand
can be deposited within the ventilator, it is recommended
that regular 6 monthly inspections are carried out to
check dust build up which should then be removed once
it becomes excessive.
Performance (Cd)
All Zefyr HCD ventilators have an independently certified
coefficient of discharge of at least 0.65.
